This summer, the ice on the north pole has a high probability of melting allowing ships to sail right through it. This is a first in human history and is a definite proof that global warming is getting worst. The north pole has been covered with ice for as long as we can remember.
There is no land on the north pole as shown by the image on the left but it has been pretty much solid until maybe this summer. We may have solved the ozone problem but here’s another thing that we must start fixing. I can’t imagine a North Pole with no ice. Where will Santa live?
Seriously, I find it disturbing that global warming is getting much worse everyday and if we don’t do anything about it then things might just get out of hand. Who do we expect to fix this problem? The animals? I don’t think they have the capability of doing such a great project but we humans, with all our intelligence and technological prowess can do something.
Can we fix it? Of course we can. If we can fix the hole in the ozone then we can bring back ice on the north pole. It took a global effort to fix the ozone and it’s definitely gonna require a global effort to bring ice to the north pole again. It’s gonna be a huge project but it can be done if we all just work together.

The above image of the North Pole covered
with ice might end up being just a memory
for our children
I find this really worrying and my feelings are properly expressed by the following words:
“From the viewpoint of science, the North Pole is just another point on the globe, but symbolically it is hugely important. There is supposed to be ice at the North Pole, not open water,” said Mark Serreze of the US National Snow and Ice Data Centre in Colorado. Source: The Independent, Exclusive: No ice at the North Pole
Laws needs to be passed and personal gains have to be set aside. We have to think as a single organism. I want my children to enjoy their time on this planet but that won’t happen unless we do our part in this global effort of saving our dear planet earth. It’s the only home we got.
