51fttd5hetl_sl160_.jpgHow does one make the world a better place to live in? Have you ever thought of that question? As for me, I’ve been asking this question from time to time in my life, especially in moments when I am alone and pondering on my family’s future. How do I help make the world better?

Upon thinking on the things that I can do, I came up with the following criteria. It has to:

  • be easy for me to do
  • be something that my family can participate in
  • have a visible impact in my community
  • be viral
  • be either cheap or free to do

Based on the above criteria, I came up with the following ideas:

  • Clean up our front yard and our neighbor’s front yard
  • Give food to the poor people nearby
  • Tell people about global warming
  • Conserve water and electricity
  • Recycle household junk and either re-use them, sell them or give them to friends

These are the top 5 items on my list which I think I can do to make the world better. What about you? What’s in your “How to Make the World Better” list?

North Pole Could Melt This Summer

This summer, the ice on the north pole has a high probability of melting allowing ships to sail right through it. This is a first in human history and is a definite proof that global warming is getting worst. The north pole has been covered with ice for as long as we can remember.

275px-arctic_ocean.pngThere is no land on the north pole as shown by the image on the left but it has been pretty much solid until maybe this summer. We may have solved the ozone problem but here’s another thing that we must start fixing. I can’t imagine a North Pole with no ice. Where will Santa live?

Seriously, I find it disturbing that global warming is getting much worse everyday and if we don’t do anything about it then things might just get out of hand. Who do we expect to fix this problem? The animals? I don’t think they have the capability of doing such a great project but we humans, with all our intelligence and technological prowess can do something.

Can we fix it? Of course we can. If we can fix the hole in the ozone then we can bring back ice on the north pole. It took a global effort to fix the ozone and it’s definitely gonna require a global effort to bring ice to the north pole again. It’s gonna be a huge project but it can be done if we all just work together.

The above image of the North Pole covered
with ice might end up being just a memory
for our children

I find this really worrying and my feelings are properly expressed by the following words:

“From the viewpoint of science, the North Pole is just another point on the globe, but symbolically it is hugely important. There is supposed to be ice at the North Pole, not open water,” said Mark Serreze of the US National Snow and Ice Data Centre in Colorado. Laws needs to be passed and personal gains have to be set aside. We have to think as a single organism. I want my children to enjoy their time on this planet but that won’t happen unless we do our part in this global effort of saving our dear planet earth. It’s the only home we got.

Cangrier-M1 - Could it solve the world’s power problem?

With the world currently in the high-gear towards saving the planet, lots of inventors all over the globe are now looking for ways to produce green energy as well as for new ways to satisfy the world’s hunger for more electricity. There are many ideas and some of them are already being put into good use. One such idea is called Cangrier-M1 or C-M1 for short.

The invention was brought to my attention by a friend months ago but I didn’t have a chance to look more into it until today when he told me that C-M1 has a website. But first, what is C-M1?

The inventor of C-M1 claims that the machine can produce 25 watts of power for every watt it consumes. The first time I heard about it made me think if it was possible. It makes use of what they call the “WATER RECYCLING CONCEPT” wherein water us pumped up to a reservoir by the C-M1 machine. The water is then poured down into a turbine which then produces energy. The water is then recycled back up using only 1/25 of the power produced.

Is it impossible? Well, I think only time can tell. Currently, it’s now in the USPTO Patent Pending status and looking for investors who are willing to partner with them. If this is for real, then I think this is definitely going to be the machine of the century.

More about this machine can be found at cangrier-m.com.
